Within one week of making the request for $35,000 for a water project in the rural community of Kisumwa on December 12, 2023, OnMission had amazingly received $26,000. We are still seeking that final $9,000 so that we might begin installing the well, water tower and water stations as soon as possible. OnMission has already secured an 8.5 acre plot of land, so this project is well on its way.
At Kisumwa OnMission is creating a secure community for vulnerable and marginalized women who deal with a variety of challenges. Our first work is to create safe and secure housing for these women. They are often abused. Our second objective is to restore them to respected members of their community. They are often ignored and shunned. With this water project under their care and management their place in their community will be enhanced and their personal security improved.
We named the Kisumwa Project the "Mama Conslata Project" after the woman who inspired this work at Kisumwa. Please consider making a donation to help us complete this project.
