Howard Edwards was able to visit Mama Conslata for the first time in her new home in the Kisumwa community that OnMission is helping to create for vulnerable and marginalized women who are all to frequently abused. Following his visit the builder was recalled to finish the project to specifications - the floor and access ramp were finished. In addition, it was noted that glass windows and a washroom and toilet were required. These were also installed with an additional investment of $7,600.
It was reported that now that Mama Conslata was safe, two other young women had been abused. It was decided that the Mama Conslata project needed to be expanded to include two small, wheelchair accessible homes built adjacent to the Mama Conslata house. The belief is that bringing these women into community increases their personal security and allows them to work the small farm together. OnMission is also planning a local water project and mango orchard for this community.
